Happy April Fools Day!
No pranks here though, just meandering thought.
Reading
- I've been enjoying Gankra's writing recently, https:
// , and https:faultlore .com /blah /defaults -affect -inference / // .faultlore .com /blah /swift -abi / - Learned how to write parser combinators with Nom via Adam Chalmer's post: https:
// blog .adamchalmers .com /nom -chars / - Finally got around to reading about npm i everything and other insights into what needs change with the registry: https:
// blog .vlt .sh /blog /the -massive -hole -in -the -npm -ecosystem / - Eric Portis wrote about color spaces and what makes OKLCH okay in https:
// which finally gave me a good basis for why OKLAB, OKLCH, LAB, and LCH are all different and useful.ericportis .com /posts /2024 /okay -color -spaces /
Gaming
Loving playing Balatro, a rogue-like poker video game where you build your rigged card deck each hand to beat more complicated antes.
Also delving into Techtonica, a solid factory-building game that feels like a cousin of Satisfactory, but with a global grid to place items on, an amazing in-game map, and very forgiving building and destruction of systems of machines.
I've never really played a factory game, so I'm enjoying the exploration π.
Music
Loving Shy, Low, got to see them in concert recently, they were a blast, they make some melodic shit.
Also, Sleep Walking Orchestra by BUMP OF CHICKEN is a bop, it's the theme song of Delicious in Dungeon, which I've been watching on Netflix. I've got to find and read the manga at some point too.
