Got my new State Bicycles 4130 bike up and running, I've been all over Houston, we're quite flat, so a single-speed works beautifully! I mounted my bike lock, add my existing loop phone mount and front lamp, and just got a rear rack to mount my grocery store panniers!
Got myself a Fairdale rear bike rack since the State Bicycle version is not available.
Excited that it has perfectly placed holes for attaching the bottom of the panniers to the rack.
I really want to either get a second bike in "townie" or "dutch" style, or kit out my current bike with the townie handle bars and a cushier seat.
I really want the new bike to be a step-through though, so I might go for State's step-thru version, especially if it's in a color other than bubble gum pink
Dutch bikes are a bit more relaxed and feel oriented towards a bike as a method of transportation than road bikes do. I feel like we only have this style in the US in the form of ebikes currently. They do exist though:
I might look into a shop like https:
Honestly something like the below is what I'm really looking for.
The list of features I want:
- Upright biking position
- Comfy plush bike seat
- Swept back handlebars
- Lots of cargo space
- Chonky bike stand to make loading grocieries easy
- Built-in bike lock so I can lock the wheel to the bike for quick stops
- Step-thru frame for easy mount and dismount
- Chain guard and fenders
